T38 Fax with Re-invite + G711 Fax Mode (T38+R,G711)

This mode can only be applied to outgoing VoIP calls. Fax Voip T.38 Console sends T.38 re-invite to the other side. With the positive response from the other side, Fax Voip T.38 Console sends T.38 fax. If the other party answers 'not supported', Fax Voip T.38 Console switches to G711 fax and sends the fax as audio.

To apply this mode to outgoing calls do the following:

1.     Open Fax Voip T.38 Console Control Panel.

2.     Click VOIP in TreeView, then click Outgoing Plan.

3.     To create new rule click New. To edit an existing rule select it and click Edit (or double-click the selected rule).

4.     In the VOIP Outgoing Call Routing Rule window, on the General page select If to send a fax with T.38 support (VOIP) option.

5.     Switch to the Fax panel.

6.     In the Fax Support section, check Send T.38 re-invite option.

7.     Click <OK> button to fix changes.

8.     Click <Apply> button to save modified settings for rules. Do not forget to restart Fax Voip T.38 Console to operate with new settings.

Notes

• It is recommended to use this mode with VoIP providers that have support for T.38, but the other side does not send T.38-reinvite to Fax Voip T.38 Console or T.38-reinvite from the other side is not stable.
• Possibility to switch to G711 Fax is particularly useful in cases of instable support for T.38.
• Not recommended to use this feature with SIP/H.323 providers without T.38 support, since depending on the properties of the VoIP network, switching to G711 fax mode may not work. Nevertheless it should be noted that the fallback to G711 Fax operates quite well in this mode.
• When using this mode CNG tone may not be transferred, depending on the capabilities of SIP/H.323 network.
