To open Inbox folder, in the Fax Voip T.38 Console in the treeview click T.38 Console and then click Inbox.
The Inbox folder stores all received faxes.
Received faxes can be easily viewed in the Preview Panel. You can navigate between the fax pages using the navigation buttons located at the bottom of the Preview Panel.
To view the selected fax using image viewer software, double-click it. Depending on the Fax Voip T.38 Console settings, received faxes can be stored in the TIFF, PDF or SFF format. Faxes that stored in the TIFF format can be viewed in the Windows Photo Viewer. Faxes received as PDF files can be viewed in the Adobe Acrobat Reader program. To view faxes received in the SFF format, you can install and use IrfanView software.
You can view the properties of the selected fax by clicking Properties in the File menu. Properties of each fax are also displayed in the Inbox details pane. Information that can be displayed in the details pane are:
- Icon. TIFF, PDF or SFF icon, depending on the format in which the received fax is saved.
- Start Time. The time when fax reception started.
- Duration. The duration of the incoming fax call or fax transmission.
- Calling Party. The fax number of the caller. The number is displayed in SIP, H.323 or ISDN format.
- File. The name of the fax file.
- Status. Current status of the incoming fax or operation completion code. In the case of a failed fax reception contains the error description.
- Pages. The number of delivered pages for received faxes.
- Rate. Transmission rate. The 'e' attribute is used to indicate Error Correction Mode (ECM).
- Resolution. This field contains the resolution information for received faxes: Normal for 204 x 98 dots per inch (dpi), Fine for 204 x 196 dpi.
- T.38. Fax protocol information. Can be one of the following values: T.38, G.711 - audio fax over G.711 codec via VOIP or ISDN CAPI 2.0, B3:4:SFF - fax via ISDN CAPI 2.0 line using B3 Protocol 4: T.30 for Group 3 fax, B3:5:SFF - fax via ISDN CAPI 2.0 line using B3 Protocol 5: T.30 for Group 3 fax extended.
- Remote Fax ID. The Transmitting Subscriber ID (TSID) received from the fax sender.
- Called Party. The telephone number of the called party. The number is displayed in SIP, H.323 or ISDN format.
- Local Fax ID. The Called Subscriber ID (CSID) that identifies you as a fax recipient, sent to the fax sender.
- Mail To. Contains one or more e-mail addresses to which the incoming fax has been routed (according to the Route through e-mail Incoming Method).
- CC. Contains one or more e-mail addresses to which the copy of e-mail message (Cc) has been sent (according to the Route through e-mail Incoming Method).
- BCC. Contains one or more e-mail addresses to which the blind carbon copy of e-mail message (Bcc) has been sent (according to the Route through e-mail Incoming Method).
- Mail Format. The fax delivery format (according to the Route through e-mail Incoming Method). Can be TIFF, PDF or SFF.
- Store in Folder. One or more folders locations where incoming fax has been stored (according to the Store in a folder Incoming Method).
- Save Format. The file format in which incoming fax has been stored (according to the Store in a folder Incoming Method). Can be TIFF, PDF or SFF.
- Print To. Printers for printing incoming fax (according to the Print Incoming Method).
The Status column contains additional information about the results of fax reception. Possible states and completion codes include:
- Incoming call... Incoming call detected.
- Answered. The call is answered but the fax not started yet.
- Receiving T.38. The call is answered and fax application is started in T.38 fax mode.
- Receiving audio fax. The call is answered and fax application is started in audio fax mode.
- Receiving CAPI 2.0 fax. The ISDN CAPI 2.0 call is answered and fax application is started to receive a fax according to B3 Protocol 4: T.30 for Group 3 fax or B3 Protocol 5: T.30 for Group 3 fax extended.
- Receiving page n. Fax page number currently receiving.
- Incoming call not answered. Incoming call detected but not answered for some reason.
- Local fax not started. The call was answered but fax application was not started. For example the remote party does not support T.38 and can not do re-invite to G.711.
- Fax not detected at other side. The call was answered and fax application was started. However, the calling party did not start fax transmission.
- Waiting for statistics. The fax call is completed but fax application is not completed its work.
- The call dropped prematurely. This error usually occurs when connection dropped during a fax transmission.
- Application error or its closing when sending a fax. This error usually occurs when user stops Fax Voip T.38 Console application during a fax reception. You should avoid such situations.
- OK. Successfully received fax.
Note that the fax application may provide the extended completion codes. The error generated by the fax application usually points to the specific problem that occurred when receiving a fax. In the case of receiving a fax via ISDN CAPI 2.0 line using B3 protocol 4 or 5, CAPI 2.0 specific completion codes can be provided.
