To open Sent Faxes folder, in your Log Book in the treeview click Fax and then click Sent Faxes.
The Sent Faxes folder is the repository of all sent faxes. The information about failed attempts to send a fax also can be viewed here.
Sent faxes can be easily viewed in the Preview Panel. You can navigate between the fax pages using the navigation buttons located at the bottom of the Preview Panel.
To view the selected fax using image viewer software, double-click it. Contents of a fax in the Sent Faxes folder can be viewed as a TIFF file in the Windows Photo Viewer.
You can view the properties of the selected fax by clicking Properties in the File menu. Properties of each fax are also displayed in the Sent Faxes details pane. Information that can be displayed in the details pane are:
- Icon. The red arrow indicates that the fax transmission failed.
- Start Time. The time when fax transmission started.
- Duration. The duration of the fax transmission.
- Called Number. The telephone number of the called party.
- Status. Operation completion code. In the case of a failed fax transmission contains the error description.
- Pages. The number of successfully sent pages and the total number of pages in the outgoing fax.
- Rate. Transmission rate. The 'e' attribute is used to indicate Error Correction Mode (ECM).
- Resolution. This field contains the resolution information for transmitted faxes: Normal for 204 x 98 dots per inch (dpi), Fine for 204 x 196 dpi.
- T.38. Fax protocol information: T.38 or G.711 for audio faxes (Fax over G.711 codec).
- Remote Fax ID. The Called Subscriber ID (CSID) received from the fax recipient.
- Local Fax ID. The Transmitting Subscriber ID (TSID) that identifies you as a fax sender, sent to the fax recipient.
- Fax HeadLine. The text that is transmitted at the top of each faxed page.
- Caller Number. The telephone number of the caller.
- Called Party. SIP or H.323 address of the called party.
- Calling Party. SIP or H.323 address of the caller.
- Attributes. Type of entry (fax out).
- File. The full path to the fax file.
- Call Token. The unique identifier of the phone call associated with the fax.
- Item ID. The unique number of the entry in the database.
The Status column contains additional information about the results of fax sending. Possible completion codes include:
- OK. Successfully sent fax.
- No response after sending a page. The outgoing fax was transmitted completely or partially, but the remote side has not confirmed the transfer of the last page.
- Fax call not answered. The call was not answered. For example the receiving device did not answer the fax call or busy signal was detected. You also get this error if your SIP or H.323 line is unavailable because of incorrect settings or for some other reason.
- Fax transmission not started. The call was answered but fax transmission not started. For example remote fax machine did not start.
- Call cleared when playing audio announcement. The call was disconnected at the time of playing audio message, ie before beginning of the fax transmission.
- The call dropped prematurely. This error usually occurs when connection dropped during a fax transmission.
Note that the fax application may provide the extended completion codes. The error generated by the fax application usually points to the specific problem that occurred when sending a fax.
