Test SIP Registration

SIP Registrations are started when you start the Fax Voip T.38 Modem application. You can also manually start or stop SIP Registrations. This can be used in the following cases:

• To temporarily stop and then start SIP Registration for one or more SIP accounts.
• To manually restore SIP Registration in the case of losing registration if for some reason it can not be restored automatically.
• To test SIP Registration after creating or editing SIP Registration entry (before saving settings).
• To investigate the behavior of your SIP server when configuring the Forcibly send REGISTER request option. See also in the Restore SIP Registration Options chapter of this user manual.

These functions can not be used when Fax Voip T.38 Modem is stopped. Note that these functions use the data currently displayed in the SIP accounts list instead of already saved settings. That is why you can use them to test the newly created or just edited entries without clicking <Apply> button and restarting Fax Voip T.38 Modem.

To start SIP Registration

1.     Open Fax Voip T.38 Modem Control Panel.

2.     Click VOIP in TreeView, then click SIP, then click Registrations.

3.     Make sure that Fax Voip T.38 Modem is started. To start Fax Voip T.38 Modem click <START> button.

4.     Select one or more SIP Registration entries.

5.     Click Register or select Register command from the Register split button’s drop-down menu.

To stop SIP Registration

1.     Open Fax Voip T.38 Modem Control Panel.

2.     Click VOIP in TreeView, then click SIP, then click Registrations.

3.     Make sure that Fax Voip T.38 Modem is started. To start Fax Voip T.38 Modem click <START> button.

4.     Select one or more SIP Registration entries.

5.     Select Unregister command from the Register split button’s drop-down menu.

Notes

• If SIP Registration is stopped by the Unregister command, it can be automatically restored after some time if Forcibly send REGISTER request option is applied. See also in the Restore SIP Registration Options chapter of this user manual. This does not apply to the case when you test newly created SIP Registration entry without saving it and restarting Fax Voip T.38 Modem.
