Dialing Rules (Mail to Fax/Audio)
On this page you can specify how the phone number is translated into dialing string.
The options below can be overridden in the Mail to Fax (Mail to Audio) Rules, see in the Dialing Rules Settings (Mail to Fax/Audio Rule) chapter of this user manual.
Convert phone number to non-canonical format before creating fax or audio message job (remove '+', brackets, dashes and spaces)
Specify whether to convert phone numbers to non-canonical format before creating fax or audio message job. If this option is not checked, the recipient's phone number is displayed in Fax Voip T.38 Console and will be dialed without changes, in the same format as it was provided by e-mail user. When using this option, the '+' character as well as all parentheses, dashes and spaces will be removed from the dialed number. Note that this function does not really check whether the original phone number is in canonical format ("+" in the beginning, etc.). When using this option, the translated phone number will be indicated in the e-mail notification.
Use this option if you want to add a specified prefix to the dialed phone number. This can be useful in a variety of scenarios. The specified prefix can be then removed when applying the Outgoing VOIP Call Routing rules. See description of the If Number starts with and Remove digits... options in the General Settings (Outgoing VOIP Call Routing) chapter of this user manual. When using this option and phone numbers in canonical format, we recommend that you also use Convert phone number to non-canonical format before creating fax or audio message job (remove '+', brackets, dashes and spaces) option. When using this option, the translated phone number (with a prefix added) will be indicated in the e-mail notification.
