When configured in the automatic fax reception mode, the Fax Voip Softphone automatically answers the incoming call and receives the fax. To automatically receive incoming faxes, you need to configure Incoming VOIP Call Routing rules to receive fax calls. To configure, do the following:
1. Open Fax Voip Softphone Control Panel.
2. Click VOIP in the tree, then click Incoming Plan.
3. Click New button to create the new Incoming VOIP Call Routing rule.
4. In the VOIP Incoming Call Routing Rule window, in the General panel, specify the conditions under which this rule applies (in the VOIP Call From and VOIP Call To sections). More details can be found in the chapter Incoming VOIP Call Routing Settings, in the General Settings section.
5. In the Call To Fax Voip Softphone area select Fax Call option to automatically receive faxes, and then select T.38 support option to receive T.38 faxes or select G.711(audio) option to receive audio faxes (Fax over G.711 codec). In the Store faxes in folder field, specify the path where to store received faxes.
Fax Call
Use this option to automatically receive faxes. Incoming faxes can be stored using the TIFF, PDF or SFF file format and can be viewed in the Fax Voip Softphone Log Book.
T.38 support
Use this option to enable T.38 fax protocol support. If you use this option and the fax can not be received using T.38 mode, Fax Voip Softphone switches to audio fax mode and receives the fax as audio (Fax over G.711 codec).
G.711 (audio)
Use this option to receive faxes as audio (Fax over G.711 codec).
Store faxes in folder
The folder where incoming faxes are stored. By default, Fax Voip Softphone stores incoming faxes in the folder specified in the Fax Settings, see Fax Inbox Folder option. Store Faxes in Folder option allows to use individual folder in the case of automatic fax receiving (Fax Call option is selected).
6. In the T.38 Fax, Audio Fax and Fax panels change the additional fax settings if necessary. More details can be found in the Incoming VOIP Call Routing Settings chapter of this user manual.
7. In the VOIP Incoming Call Routing Rule window, click OK.
8. Use Up and Down buttons to arrange Incoming VOIP Call Routing rules in preference order.
9. In our example (see picture) all incoming SIP calls with prefix '1' will be accepted as fax calls with T.38 support available, all other SIP calls will be accepted as voice calls. All incoming H.323 calls with prefix '2' will be accepted as fax calls (audio fax), all other H.323 calls will be accepted as voice calls.
10. Click Apply button to save settings for Incoming VOIP Call Routing. All the changes are applied immediately.
