To install the Windows Fax Service

Windows Fax Service (Windows Fax and Scan application) is usually installed on Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 7 computers by default.

Windows Fax Service (Fax Server role) is usually not installed on Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012/2012R2 and Windows Server 2008R2 computers by default.

Fax Voip T.38 Modem always trying to automatically install the Windows Fax Service on your computer during the installation process if not installed.

After manual installation of Windows Fax Service, you usually need to register Fax Voip T.38 Modem Routing Extension with Windows Fax Service, see in the Configure Fax Service using Fax Voip T.38 Modem Control Panel chapter of this user manual.
