Receiving a Fax

Parent Previous Next

To automatically detect incoming fax calls, do the following:

1.     Start CallStation program.

2.     In the main window, in menu select Fax, then check Receive Faxes.

The answering system must also be enabled for automatic fax detection.

When the answering system answers a call, as soon as it starts playing the greeting CallStation will begin listening for a fax tone.

If one is detected, the greeting will be stopped and CallStation will switch into fax receive mode. If you have a pop-up window enabled, the title bar will change to CallStation – Receiving a Fax. The fax status will be shown in the status line, and the buttons will change. Click the Details button to expand the window to see more detailed information about the fax being received.

After receiving a fax, the call is added to the Call Log with a red 'F' to indicate that it was a fax call. The New Faxes indicator is incremented (unless there was an error) to show how many new faxes have been received. To view a fax, double-click the item in the Call Log. Or, click the Fax Manager toolbar button, select the desired fax in the list, and click the View button.

To receive a fax manually

If you know that an incoming call is a fax call without answering first, simply click the Receive Fax button on the CallStation – Incoming Call pop-up window.
