Checking the existence of COM Ports at Fax Voip T.38 Modem startup

Parent Previous Next

In some implementations of Virtual COM Ports drivers, for example in the case of Eterlogic.com Virtual Serial Ports Emulator, Virtual COM Ports are not constantly present in the system. It is necessary to run a supplied application to start emulation. Usually emulation started at the time of operating system startup. See examples in the Autorun: To start Eterlogic.com VSPE using command line shortcut and Autorun: To run Eterlogic.com VSPE as service chapters of this user manual. Using this scheme it may happen that Fax Voip T.38 Modem does not detect port at startup. The proposed option allows to wait for loading port emulation up to 10 seconds.

1.     Open Fax Voip T.38 Modem Control Panel.

2.     Click Options in TreeView.

3.     Check the Check for COM ports at startup option. This option allows to wait until VSPE will be running maximum 10 seconds during Fax Voip T.38 Modem application starting. Used in conjunction with the autorun of VSPE at system startup. The point is that if you start Fax Voip T.38 Modem without VSPE running, then Fax Voip T.38 Modem will be unavailable to VSPE. Note, that this option is not compatible with the Run Fax Voip T.38 Modem as Windows service option.

4.     Click <Apply> button to apply settings.
